DAY ACADEMY PRESENTS: THE HISTORY OF CONNECTICUT LECTURE SERIES
Urban Enclaves & Arsenals: Connecticut in the Early 20th Century
Dates: Nov. 6, 13, 20 & 27
Wednesdays, 1:00-2:30 PM ET
This set of four lectures will examine Connecticut’s history in the first half of the 20th century, a time when the US was becoming more culturally and racially diverse, more urban, and more involved in conflict around the world. Connecticut’s history reflects all of these trends, especially in dynamically expanding communities such as Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford and Fairfield County. Rising defense industries will also dramatically transform regions such as Groton/New London and East Hartford among many other places.
